The isaac Szymanski memorial scholarship was created in 2024 following our devastating loss.
Isaac was so full of life. He loved to joke around, play with friends, and was a typical brother who enjoyed picking on his brothers and cousins. Growing up, Isaac enjoyed camping at Youngs Lake, participating in 4-H and playing soccer. He was not afraid to try new things. He tried little league, rocket football, cub scouts, and basketball. He was open to trying new foods and was interested in learning about different cultures. He would talk about the friends he made online and what they were teaching him about their culture. Plans were being made for him to travel overseas with his aunt to experience the places that distant relatives lived.
Isaac had a beautiful soul. He had a fun personality that caused kids to gravitate to him. Whether at the campground, at the fairgrounds, or on the soccer fields, he was always laughing and playing around.
Things changed half way through middle school and from then on challenges were faced. The stigma of mental health was a huge obstacle. We are keeping the memory of Isaac alive through this scholarship, and hope he continues to have a positive impact on people's lives, as he did when he was alive.
